AT THE WINDOW

Windows are not just for light 

and  air.... Obviously. They are a break
in the wall from sewing and working.
They are for seeing, hoping, knowing

what's going on - on the street -

who's dropping in to see whom -

who's leaving and who's returning -

and who seems to be gone for good....

And by the way, why doesn't

someone come and knock on

my door? I need a people break -
more than a window break. 
When, Lord, when?
