REMEMBER

May 28, 2012  Quote for Today - Memorial Day 2012

And pile them high at Gettysburg
And pile them high at Ypres and Verdun.

Ten years, ten years, and passengers
                  ask the conductor:
What place is this?
Where are we now?

Carl Sandburg [1878-1967], "Grass", 1918

Memorial Day - formerly called Decoration Day - started after the Civil War - but in the last century was extended to include in our memories and our prayers all those men and women who died in all our wars.
