MY  CEMETERY

It’s not a fenced in green – filled
with grey granite gravestones,
or green Styrofoam discarded
wreathes and dead flowers.

It’s this mahogany wooden box –
filled with hundreds of memorial cards.

And instead of walking among the stones,
I let my fingers - my mind and my prayers -
do the walking through the cards and the
lives of the people I have known and met.
