FLOWERS 5 DAYS LATER

The child saw the flowers - 

a dozen red roses - and screamed 

a smile of jubilation. 

5 days later she saw the

dead flowers and screamed

a scream of desolation.

She didn’t know it then

but this was to happen

again and again and again.
