HOW LONG
ARE GOOD-BYES?
How long are good-byes?
We wonder about that - standing there
at train or bus stations - or where
people are dropped off at airports -
and then both move on - a wave
or a kiss thrown back to each other.
How long are good-byes?
Wait! We don’t
know enough of
each other’s story. We don’t know
what brought people together in the first place.
We don’t know what’s going to happen next -
so we need to talk before we say, “Good-bye!”
