ALUMINUM WALKER

Waiting on the curb

for the garbage truck,

an aluminum walker

rests against a big

blue plastic barrel.

Is there a sound of

relief inside the house

or has the death of

a loved one so drained

everyone within -  that they all

could use - for a while -

aluminum walkers for their souls?
