ASH WEDNESDAY
 PRAYER

A smudge of ashes,
a sign of the cross,
a sign of hope,
a new beginning,
a phoenix from the ashes.
Lenten resolutions, Lenten
resurrection.
The Christian paradox:
dying to live,
dying to self,
rising for others,
becoming empty to become filled.
Lord Jesus, denied, betrayed,
burnt, seared and crucified,
walk with me, talk with me,
be with me on this way of the cross
to Calvary, to Resurrection,
always rising from our ashes.
