Silence _______________________
Silence says so much more than words.
Pauses _______________________
long pauses, waiting for words,
signals from each other.
Expectations ___________________
unstated hopes unclear, often
un-understood or misunderstood.
Silence _______________________
only the sound of cold
coming across a frozen lake.
Words _______________________
If only you had spoken,
if only I had spoken,
maybe we would have heard
what we need to tell each other
____________________________.
