TO SAY THE LEAST

After a spouse has died,
to say the least, O Lord,
it isn’t easy going it alone.
Seeing couples in all the old places,
seeing empty spaces in the house
where the other used to be,
to say the least, O Lord,
brings feelings of too much emptiness,
too much loneliness, too much oneness.
Needing strength, needing you, O Lord,
to say the least, O Lord,
to say the least, O Lord.
