MATCHES

 

I hope nobody is out there planning

to do away with matches ….

wooden or cardboard matches.

They better not. There are still

times we’re looking for a match –

to light a candle – to find a flashlight

when the electricity has gone out.

Isn’t it great when we find a book

of matches from Jack’s Bar and Grill

in Winston Salem, North Carolina?

“Honey when were we there?”

And memories are lit from way

back when – when we were young –

when we realized we were a match –

and yeah – we better never miss out on

a chance to make a pun and be punny.
