Hanging onto whomever
will hold us – but we
prefer mama and dada –
grandma and grandpa –
holding on like wallpaper –
duct tape – crazy glue –
whatever works – but
then there are the years
we want freedom – sing
it loud and sing it clear –
freedom then the cycle
begins all over again and
again – without an Amen.
