BACKPACKS
AND  SUITCASES

At some point, everyone realizes
that the other walks up to us to talk
to us with a backpack or a suitcase
filled with expectations, assumptions,
stories and hopes for x y or z to happen.

At some point everyone realizes
that’s why it’s difficult to really hear
what the other is saying, wanting,
desiring or hoping for. Nope: they
have too much baggage with them.

At some point everyone realizes
I  do too. Like those folks who
check the bags at airports, we
have to see what’s inside. Then it’s
easier to talk to each other on the flight.
