RED BERRIES
Clusters of tiny red berries,
ripe, ready for birds
who decide to stay
for the winter …. Red berries
quite visible against
still green leaves
or white bright snow.
Friends? Not too many.
No flocks, no clusters,
just the ones who
stay quite visible,
quite close,
quite delicious,
like red berries,
especially appreciated
when others have gone south –
or disappear when winter is here.
