Driving over bridges
or along the rivers,
I always see water colors,
impressionistic paintings
on water canvases,
scenes of shore lines,
smoke stacks, or
seasoned leaves
on many trees,
murky paintings
of people fishing
off bridges,
like art students,
studying the waters,
but then comes the night,
while driving home alone
along rivers, going over bridges
in the dark,
seeing so many great masterpieces,
lights and stars
painted on the canvas
of corrugated waters.

Hey Father Andy,
Just finished reading your poem "River Question?". I loved it. I have a great exercise for you. Read it again with this thought in mind. Sometimes rivers make paths.

P.S. My wife and I love your sermons. You have been blessed with a deep understanding of what it means to be human; which after being a child of God is about the best thing you could be.
