THEMES

Do we all have our themes,

the things we’re off on?

Like sports, the weather,

politics or religion?

Or are you like me – a

not knowing myself sort of person?

I’m filled with constant Inner babble

and a million ideas a minute?

I need to sort. Writing helps.

Death is scratching my windows –l

like branches against my house –

but I also want life and a few more years.

Health and food – they are not on my radar.

God, what do you have to say about all this?

Quote for Today

"When you do Shakespeare they think you must be intelligent because they think you understand what you're saying."

A PIECE OF BREAD

A piece for you

and a piece for me …

and you and you and you….

Pausing us all for a moment

Maybe catching each other’s eye or face.

We stop, we pause, we say a word.

We might say even hear,  “Thanks!”

We begin to listen.

We think.

We say, "Thank you."

A piece of bread can do a  lot  of peace making.

At least for a moment

Then we might rise - a bit.

A PIECE OF BREAD

A piece for you

and a piece for me …

and you and you and you….

Pausing us all for a moment.

Maybe catching each other’s eye or face

when doing this and the other wonders.

We stop, we pause, we say a word.

“Thanks!”

It’s like Eucharist – a bit – that is if I bite.

A piece of bread can do a  lot  of peace making –

if but for a moment

and then we too rise.

REVENGE

On a scale of one to ten,

ten being the worst, how

many times is revenge

the deep down motive?

Somebody says something

nasty about us at a New

Years Eve party and we

get them back by

April Fool’s Day –

at least by the evening.

Quote for Today

"The doctrine of the Buddha is taught with reference to two truths - conventional  truth and ultimate truth.

Those who do not understand the difference between these two truths do not understand the profound essence of the doctrine of the Buddha."

DETECTIVES ALL

We’re all Watson or Holmes,

Agatha Christie or Nancy Drew

and we’re trying to figure out

the daily crimes and sins

of those around us.

We then play the part

of judge and jury. We

then publish and proclaim

others’ crimes – without

taking the time for our own.

Maybe that’s exactly what

we’re doing.  Exactly or maybe.
