ON STAGE –

WITHOUT KNOWING IT

Dads do dozens of rarely noticed
automatic acts of kindness –
that kids won’t see till his funeral
or  his 75th birthday – and actually
he probably will have forgotten.

Kids repeat – without even noticing –
what they learned from their dads.
These are the behind the scene stories –
sacraments, liturgy, repeated culture.
Watch your dad; watch history.

“In the world to come I shall not be asked, ‘Why were you not Moses?’ I shall be asked, ‘Why were you not Zusya?’”

MY   MOMMY  THE  ARTIST

Moms are drawing
10,000 chalk  figures
on the brains of their kids
all through their growing up years:
combing their hair,
dishing out cookies and chocolate,
reading to them,
showing them off to the world.

HOW  DO  YOU  DEFINE YOURSELF?

Me ....
A gift to you ....
Interesting ....
A story ....
Wow ....
Surprise ....
Looking and listening to you ….
A gift from God ….
A question ….
A remembrance ….

CAUTION

I saw a sign
that said, “Caution!”
But I didn’t stop
to see what I should
be cautious about.

That's the regular me.

Then fear arrived.
This time I stopped
to see where I was.
This time I noticed
caution arrived.
