GRIEVANCE

How do we weigh the weight
of a grievance – a cut that is
a down deep hurt – raw - red -
one we can’t put on a scale?

How do we let go of one of
these down deep hurts – one
that just won’t heal – one that
we find a way to forgiveness.

              ANGER

Sometimes anger is made up
of razor blades and barbed wire.

Sometimes anger is made up
of tears, sadness and disappointment.

Sometimes anger is made up
of emptiness and not showing up.

Sometimes anger is made up
of too down deep silence – silence.

CAN’T  ESCAPE

We can’t escape the hurts
in our heart – even if we
try to hide them. They show
up in our eyes and tears on
our cheek – often sneaking
in when we least expect them.

We can’t run away from home
even if we pack a suitcase and
head to some place 1,000 miles
away. Home is in always in our
heart – always in our thoughts -
and always in our question marks.
