Thought for the Day

GLUMP!

The sound of a drop of water
into a half-empty barrel: glump.

Interesting sound – so it didn’t
bother me at first as much as envy.

Talk about half-empty: my soul.
Too much what aging has siphoned.

Too much seeing what I’m missing.
Too much hearing empty glump
.

ROTATIONS

Down deep,
deep within,
inner emotions
slowly spin,
forgets, regrets,
round and round,
back and forth,
up and down,
unconsciously,
while we live,
while we are
consciously doing
what we're doing:
work and the
everyday efforts -
the without realities -
but there is always
these greater within
spins - the always -
God and the eternal
everyday wonderful
within - always - and
they will be forever.

Thought for Today:

“Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.”

ATMOSPHERE  OF  PEACE

What I want?
What I like?
It's to look at the menu
and order an atmosphere of peace
for every person at the table.

I want to bring peace
into the rooms I enter -
to the tables I sit at -
into the conversations
I find myself in.

I have some choices.
I can listen.
I can leave my ugly feelings
at the door - and walk in
hoping for more.

I can't fill the whole valley
or my street with peace,
but I can simply do what Christ did:
Enter rooms and be the peace we're all
looking for in each other. Amen.

WHEN  YOU  PRAY

When you pray,
when you want to pray,
go inside - open that inner door -
go inside - to your inner place -
where Jesus will meet you,
where Jesus will greet you,
where Jesus will sit with you,
where Jesus will feed you,
where Jesus will give you peace.
Keep it simple. Keep it as simple
as that. Amen. Alleluia.
