COMPARISONS
Sometimes somebody says,
“No comparisons.” Like a
“No Smoking” sign it
sometimes works – but
most of the time, no.
Life is filled with the same
old same old – along with
so many differences. Yet
we’re constantly comparing
people with our expectations
for them. Yet, we forget to
check our unfair lack of
understanding others –
while giving ourselves
an A + every time.

DEATH OF
A SALESMAN
Arthur Miller was right!
All of us are salesmen
selling ourselves and who
and what we are and have.
And we age. We’re not wanted.
We’re neglected and rejected.
Heck! I’m almost 84.
I know what I’m talking about
and when I talk I’m cut off
for younger conversations.
So Arthur Miller, thanks
for putting it into words
and for putting it on stage.

"If any of us were to list the five most important things in life - for anyone - what would they be? A sense of meaning. A feeling of personal fulfillment. Having people who really care about us. Having basic necessities - food, shelter, health. And contentment and peace."
