NO

Just two letters –

in this very short word ….

A word that can say so much….

It could be a

“No” to a marriage proposal ….

“No” to another drink ….

“No, I don’t want to go.”

“No!”

Sometimes it all depends

on just how we say it.

Sometimes it all depends

on how another knows us.

“No!”

You still don’t get it.

“No, I know exactly what I’m saying.

“Yes, but I know

exactly what you mean.”

“No, you don’t.”

“Yes, I do.”

“No!”

IT  ALL  DEPENDS

Sometimes I like to hear the sound

of rain on our roof – especially in

the Spring  - but not in the fall when

I know that means leaks and we don’t

know where the bad spots are – the

wind can push that rain – through holes

we don’t know where they are. Just

rain – no metaphor – just rain and

leaks – Autumn – just rain and music

on my roof – Spring – beautiful Spring.

LIAR, LIAR

That accusation really works

when we look in the mirror

and say it to ourselves!

“Liar! Liar!”

When we notice another

is telling a lie, it doesn’t

have the same impact.

“Liar! Liar!"

But when we are the one

who is being dishonest and

we admit it to ourselves – good.

“Liar. Liar”

We can then look ourselves

in the eye – and then make the

move towards personal growth.

RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME

Everything has its own look:

Potatoes, turnips, cheese cake -

Chocolate cookies and milk –

A copy of the New York Times.

A hockey game on TV is so different than

a baseball game on TV.

So too Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter.

So too the people on my street

and the person next to me at work.

And that’s only what I see.

Imagine how different they are in person?
