RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME

Everything has its own look:

Potatoes, turnips, cheese cake -

Chocolate cookies and milk –

A copy of the New York Times.

A hockey game on TV is so different than

a baseball game on TV.

So too Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter.

So too the people on my street

and the person next to me at work.

And that’s only what I see.

Imagine how different they are in person?

INDIFFERENCE

Just keeping cool….

Not letting anything get in the way….

Putting a lukewarm wet towel on my emotions ….

Listening ….

In touch with what’s happening ….

Maybe ….

Wondering ….

Seeing all the possibilities ….

Accepting what I’m not sure about ….

Breathing ….

Being ….

Time is happening ….

I don’t have to solve everything ….

Not that easy to be indifferent ….

Knowing a month from now I’ll be in the calm next ….

Not blaming myself for doing so little ….

My earlier years I was different and doing ….

Not now, but I’m enjoying a lot more.

Quote for Today

"The opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference.

The opposite of art is not ugliness, it's indifference.

The opposite of faith is not heresy, it's indifference.

And the opposite of life is not death, it's indifference."

Elie Wiesel (1928- )

ALMOST

Much of life is almost.

The pie crust is fine but ….

I wrote the letter and I could have

added a few more comments, but ….

Almost did that, but time happened.

Almost a perfect day – but a few

rain clouds slipped into the afternoon sky.

Said a prayer – almost without distractions –

but second thoughts about supper arrived….
