Quote for Today
“Opera is when a guy gets stabbed in the
back and, instead of bleeding, he sings.”

SCULPTURING
Whether we know it or not, we are
forever sculpting each other with
our words – with our looks – with
our way of being with each other.
We are.
Holding a door, allowing another
to get ahead of us to get three
sips of water or to place our order
at a restaurant – all is sculpturing.
We are.
The bad news is that this happens
with bad stuff – like addictions.
The good news is that this happens
with good stuff like
compliments and love.
We are.

WHAT WOULD
IT TAKE?
What would it take to get a standing ovation?
What would it be like to get one – a “Yes!” vote?
Do we all have a gift – a talent – an ability
that could take the house down or do we
have to practice, practice, practice?
Does every person we go by, sit next to
on the train or plane deserve recognition
for their contributions to life on this planet?
People claim to be pro life – yet they yawn,
not listen, and pick up the paper when another
walks onto the stage called “Life!” No! No! No!
Don’t fail to clap for the other. Yes! Yes! Yes!

REGRETS
Regrets – they can be silent
and sneaky – sticking to our
inner skin – making their
appearance on rainy days –
like a bill we didn’t pay –
like meeting someone who
looks like someone who
hurt us back then - back when
things just weren’t going right
for us. Can we flush
them?
Can we forget them by moving
or just becoming better with age –
but as I said they can reappear –
unwanted, ugly and unannounced?
Regrets .... Regrets .... Regrets ....
Not so easy …. Not so easy.
