“DOMI”
in my Second Year of High School. When
asked where someone was, sometimes I
heard the answer, “Domi!” It meant “Drop out”.
I was speaking Latin. I was thinking in Latin.
We ended up with years and years of Latin,
but I only became at home with one word, “Domi”.
were in Latin – but sorry to say I used
translations and dictionaries and guesses -
except for one word I was at home with: “Domi".

FAVORITE WORD
I once heard an English teacher say
that his favorite word was
“oleomargarine”. Ooo. Interesting.
I don’t remember anything else
he taught us, but I do remember,
“What’s your favorite word?”
That happened in a classroom
in the 1950’s. I came up with
many words in the years ever since.
bivouac, bazooka, bayou, bayberry,
ballad, backbone, burnish and those
are just words that begin with “b”.

REVENGE
how many things are done out
of revenge – out of pay back?
is really going on in street crime
or family or marriage fights.
doing ever since we were little
kids and we couldn’t get our way.
only one at the table – in the game -
or in our family. Me's only come as one.
