NOW  THAT’S  A  SIN

Too, too often people say,
“Now that’s a sin!”

Sin is only when there is a choice –
a choice that cuts and hurts my very way
of being a human being.

Sin is only when what I do
ends up making me see harmfully.

Sin is only when a behavior I do
hurts my ability to be nice and decent.

Sin is only when what I’m choosing
hurts my way of being a giving, living
family member – blocking good living
together as family members on planet earth.

Sin is only when what I’m choosing
hurts planet earth itself.

JOYFUL,   JOYFUL,  SING SO LOUDLY,
SING THE ODE, THE SONG OF JOY!

Joyful, joyful, sing so loudly,
sing the ode, the song of joy.

God is our loving Father,
we are all God’s hopeful Family.

God is the eternal light
Who removes all blinding darkness.

Christ has arisen!
Sing that resurrection song.

Grace, joy, great, great gladness
has removed all dark sadness.

Walk with us once again
in this garden gladness.

Sit us down with you at
this ever blessed feast.

Hallelujah, Hallelujah,
forever flowing from our lips.

GETTING  OLDER

I don't see too many senior citizens
wearing back packs - but it helps
if they carry with them patience,
laughter, their glasses and their
hearing aids  - plus a smile.

Faith, hope and charity ought
to be packed into their outlook -
along with the ability to tell only
one story a time - because the
older we get, the more we got. Amen.

NON-STOP OCEAN

The ocean is non-stop –
constant – sliding into
and onto our beach.

Sometimes the waves
are pounding, pushing,
jumping, leaping at us.

Sometimes all is calm:
the slow slide of waves –
calming moving in and out.

The ocean – does it ever
get a chance to say to God,
“Is this the way you want it?”

Or does God say, “Just do it.
Surprise all of us. Whatever,
but make it all interesting.”
