WHOM  DO  YOU  REPRESENT?

Good question.

For starters, myself. Yes,
that’s primary. I represent myself.

I represent my family. There’s a
whole circle of folks with my last name.

I represent my neighborhood, where
I come from – better add my country too.

I represent my church – my religion, my
professed values – and my God.

Good question.

IMMACULATE  CONCEPTION

The Immaculate Conception
happens not just to Mary.
It also happens to me.

Who me?
Me?
Yes me!

The Immaculate Conception
begins in some tick of time
for each of is by the Holy Spirit ….

God plants the God Seed
in all of us mysteriously –
in the beginning of our being.

In the mix of our time,
like Mary we will then  have
our Annunciation moment.

Angels will call all of us to be
like Mary – to bring Christ
to our world. Ask questions.

But for God’s sake say what
Mary said, “Be it done unto me
according to thy word.”

UNSURE AT THE SHORE

Lord, lately – wait, it’s
been more than lately.
Well, lately, I’ve stood
at the shore knowing
there is much more
and many a next – way
beyond the waves in
front of me, if and when
I put out to sea.  Soon ….

SANTA  CLAUS

Santa Claus doesn't just show up
on December 6th or December 25th.

She shows up every time a waitress
brings us a glass of cold water on a thirsty day.

He shows up every time a stranger holds
the door for us entering the library.

She’s there when a grandmother brings
a grand-teenager raison oat meal cookies.

He's there every morning when a stranger
says, "Good morning!" or "Have a great day!"

She’s there every time a grandmother brings
bread for her grandson to feed the ducks.

COUGH

He would cough – three or four coughs
in a row – sort of clearing his throat or
chest – every hour or so. It told us he
was there – sort of like the trains on the
New Jersey Transit. I’m here. They’re there.
Moving along – morning, noon and night.

But coughs and train whistles are not
enough. You’re more than that.  I want
to know who you are in that seat – in
that skull – where you’ve been and what
you thinking these last years of your life –
before you come to your last stop.
