Thought  for  Today

“`Broadway  is  a street,’ typed the columnist, `where people spend money they haven’t earned to buy things they don’t need to impress people they don’t like.’”

CORONAVIRUS  19

This  coronavirus is a bummer.

People are funny.

A doctor wearing a face mask
said in a TV interview,
“My dad retired and sat down
in a Lazy Boy chair for 10 years
and never left it. Now he’s going
outside and won’t come in.”

This  coronavirus is a bummer.

People are funny.

Then the doctor said, “Hey
if you see my dad walking
around town, tell him to get
home and to take off his
Archie Bunker mask – and
and put on a smile mask.

People are funny.

This  coronavirus is a bummer.

YOU WOULD THINK,
WOULDN’T YOU?

You would think father/son
issues would be solved by
the time he was divorced,
I mean the father, okay throw
in the son’s divorce as well?

You would think mother/daughter
issues would be solved by now,
but no, expect them to show up
at the time of the daughter’s and
granddaughter’s weddings as well.

You would think God’s existence and
God questions would sort of fall asleep
after college, but many an old, old person –
half kneeling and half sitting in the back
of church still has them a-churning.

Thought  for  Today

“I am not sending messages with my feet.  All I ever  wanted was not to come up  empty.   I did it for the  dough, and the  old  applause.”

AGAIN

Our nets were empty.
Again ….

We had fished the whole night
and caught nothing....
Again ….

Then in the morning
he’s just sitting there
and asks us if we caught anything.

“Nothing ….”

Again....

“Why does he always do that?”
said one disciple to the other
Hey …. He saw the paintings.”

Then he says,
“Try the other side.”

We do that as on cue
and the nets are full to breaking point.

“Dang it! He always does that!”
thinks one of the unnamed disciples.

“Ooops!
Hope that thought isn’t caught in a painting.”
