He hadn’t talked to his dad
in 7 years - and 7 months.
He saw a sign on the wall of the bus.
The red light was long enough
for him to read
some words
from Martin Luther King, Jr.
“He who is devoid of the power
to forgive is devoid of the power to love.”
He didn’t have his dad’s phone number.
Mom had died 7
years and 7 months ago.
He got off the bus at the next stop
and took a cab to his father’s house.
