ROOTS
Tree and plant roots wouldn’t
win a beauty contest - but without
them we cannot grow. We cannot
have a tomorrow. They crawl and
creep - through deep dark dirt -
out of sight - silent, slow, relentless -
but there we are - here we are - family -
now after 100 - 200 years. We
have
made it - knowing we have ancestors, roots,
buried - below ground - in deep dark graves.
