LONG SHADOW
There’s an old Irish proverb
that says, “All sins cast long
shadows.” Whoever said that
knew how mistakes, betrayals,
saying the wrong thing about
one’s sister or brother leaves
an itch or a twitch when a
reminder pops up or appears
on our radar screen. What does
it take for us to open up to Jesus’
forgiveness and mercy when he
knocks on our door and for us to
discover, “All is forgiven seventy
times seven times seven times”?
