IRISE PUN
Tulips – the trumpets of Spring –
are not the only Easter Flower.
Irises flower and bloom,
rising in the Middle East and
in Africa, Asia, America,
in many, many places –
everywhere - especially
in March, April and May –
white, yellow, and especially violet.
“I rise,” says Christ,
rising in the Middle East and
in Africa, Asia, America,
in many, many places,
everywhere – especially in
March, April and May, with
the Lent and Easter season.
The trumpet of Spring, of Easter, asks,
“Will I flower, will I rise with Christ?”
