POEM: HOLDING ONTO



Subway: spotting
a small girl holding onto a doll,
her mother holding onto her,
the subway holding onto all of us,
and all of us holding onto God,
sometimes spotting the holding.

    "Sometimes spotting the holding" is such an elegant way of saying how our cry, "Lord, help me in my unbelief" is answered...
